It figures now that I've got a super-duper new camera and a league media pass... The team closest to me up and closes shop.
So, I'm relegated to being a photog for the closest team to me - the Texas Tornado of the NAHL. Or should I say the Back-to-Back-to-Back National Champion Texas Tornado. That's 3 National Championships in a row there.

It's Junior A hockey. The purpose of the league is to get guys ready for (and help secure scholarships for) college hockey. But, a few guys go from the NAHL to the pro leagues. In fact, the Arizona Sundogs have two guys on this year's roster that played for the Tornado last season in Karl Sellan and Justin Mowbray.

I love the team and it's great watching the players in the early stages of their career, but... It's just not the CHL.
I love the Tornado and appreciate the players and staff, but if a CHL team moved in there tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a tear.
